കോനൂര് കോട്ടവാതില്
Nedumkotta was a wall as a protection against consistent invasion and threats from northern kingdoms mainly zamorians of Kozhikode. It was a defence fortification constructed along with the northern boarders of the Travancore state. It was built primary to resist the invasion under HyderAli Khan against Travancore state. The Kotta started from Krishnankotta on the western coast above Kodungallur and stretchedup to the Anamalai hills on the WesternGhats. It was about 48 km. long, 20 ft. wide, and 12 ft.height . The Kotta is protected at Konoor in the eastern side of N H 47 ie.in Muringoor - Palappilly road .The road is now known as `Kotta Road.'
