Forest Tramway was a 1000 mm meter guage narrow gauage railway line . This Tramway was running from the Parambikulam Wild Life Sanctuary in Palaghat district to Chalakudy in Thrissur district. This was functioned from the year 1907 to 1963 . Formerly this Tramway was under Cochin state . It served the state of Cochin by bringing Teak and Rose wood from forests which were later shipping to all over the world .The Headquarters was at Chalakudy.
